Summer Reading Challenge
June 3- August 9
Read books, attend programs, and win prizes! This summer everyone who completes their summer reading challenge will earn a prize!​

This year we're encouraging all participants to log their reading progress through Beanstack, our online platform. However, if you prefer the traditional paper version, download and print the PDF below!
Repeating Events

Story Explorey
Select Mondays at 3 pm | Ages 6-12 (or mostly independent readers)

Adventure begins in your library! Children are invited to come read stories and then create their own using their adventure journals. There will be weekly themes, lots of stickers, and, of course, snacks!

Happy Camper Scavenger Hunt
All summer | All ages

Pick up a scavenger hunt kit from the library and head into nature! Oak leaves, acorns, dandelions, and more! Get familiar with the things growing all around you!

PAWS to Read with Wally
Twice a month on Thursday, starting June 6 | All ages
​
Make a ten-minute appointment to practice your reading skills with the cutest listener ever, a golden retriever named Wally!

Spin Art
Wednesday, June 4 at 5pm | All ages
​
Spin art combines artistic creativity with a bit of machinery to create unique works of art! All materials will be provided.

Mario-Kart Grand Prix
Wednesday, June 11 at 4:30pm | Ages 10+

Start your engines! We'll be spending an evening enjoying the thrill of Mario-Kart on the Nintendo Switch. Choose your character, kart, and let the games begin!

Egg Drop Experiment
Tuesday, June 24 at 10:30am | Ages 10+
​​
Form a group of two to three partners to construct an egg-protection device. All teams receive identical materials and then let the creative construction begin. Once complete, all teams receive an egg and we head outdoors to begin testing, starting with a two foot drop and working our way higher and higher. Last egg standing wins!

Pokémon Meetup
Wednesday, June 25 at 5pm | Ages 10+

Pokémon fans unite! Hang out at the library this evening to talk, trade, and geek out. Bring your games, trading cards, and enthusiasm for the Pokémon phenomenon!

DIY Seed Bombs
Wednesday, July 2 at 5pm | All ages

Seed bombs combine clay, soil, and flower seeds to create the perfect planting pods for your yard. This is a messy program, so dress accordingly!

Constellation Lanterns (Stars in a Jar)
Wednesday, July 9 at 5pm | Ages 10+

Place stars in a jar with this inventive craft that turns a few common items into a lovely constellation lantern, perfect for providing a touch of the great night sky to any room!

Escape Room: Paul Revere's Ride
Saturday, July 12 at 10am | Ages 12-18
​
Take on the challenge of this Revolutionary War themed escape room game. Based around Paul Revere's historical midnight ride and the events leading up to the Battles of Lexington and Concord, sift through the clues to unlock a box belonging to Samuel Adams and the American rebels before the British regulars arrive. Decipher encoded messages, piece together clues, and race against the clock!

Paper Plane Aviation Workshop
Wednesday, July 23 at ??? | Ages 10+

Discover the principals of aviation when we try out a variety of paper plane designs and test them for accuracy, distance, and air-time with out airplane performance tracker! All materials provided.
